Small detail Rick (the goose pilot) was actually Nick Sias …an old friend. And yes.. he had an acquired personality, and a very accomplished pilot. But good article. Craig Ketchum.

Comment on First Timers Guide to Rothenburg ob der Tauber by Suz https://www.reflectionsenroute.com/first-timers-guide-to-rothenburg-ob-der-tauber/#comment-314572 Fri, 29 Aug 2025 10:23:55 +0000 https://www.reflectionsenroute.com/?p=60355#comment-314572 In reply to Jeff.

@Jeff, regarding your day trip, I suggest following the Romantic Road on your way to or from Rothenburg. It is a long road with lots of things to see along the way, and once you are out of Rothenburg it‘s not too convenient to come back. A day in Rothenburg is probably enough and then you could head south to Dinkelbühl and beyond…

Comment on A Lesson to Remember at Flossenburg Concentration Camp by Lenny https://www.reflectionsenroute.com/flossenburg-concentration-camp/#comment-314410 Thu, 17 Jul 2025 16:29:46 +0000 https://www.reflectionsenroute.com/?p=23443#comment-314410 I visited Flossenbürg in 1983 while stationed in Germany. My unit was rebuilding the Grafenwohr training facility for the M1 Abrams tank. This was a sobering experience, not as large as Dachau, which I also visited. I agree with the comment about the diversity of the population murdered in this facility. I will only say that most Germans truly didn’t know the extent of what was occurring in these places, but the local populace certainly did. The stark realization for them was they didn’t believe there was anything they could do about it, as any protest would have resulted in them joining the occupants. There are simply too many factual occurrences of resistance being punished with imprisonment and death.

My husband’s family is from Tripoli/Nestani and we are headed there this summer with our boys so they can experience a bit of their culture! We will also be with another couple and we intend to travel through the Peloponnese to see a few things as well, so your thoughts and experiences are amazing!

Again, thank you!!!
